Our Creative Collaborators!

Without the creative minds of our featured artists, volunteers, donors and collaborators, Sthalam projects do not come to life.

We want you know more about the artist and their work independently and the story of how it lead to us in this space! We are always on the look out for the next project with creatives.

Divya Ramanathan Kolam artist
  • Divya is a kolam artist by passion, a techie by profession, and a mother at heart.

Rooted in childhood memories and revived during the pandemic, kolam is her creative sanctuary—blending tradition, math, and mindfulness.

By day she solves tech problems; by night she creates art that connects heritage with modern expression.

  • Volunteer coordinator

Usha Dhulipala is a proud South Indian from Hyderabad, and a lover of South Indian culture and traditions and all that it represents. She is driven by a passion for South Asian arts, giving us her time and resources to support cultural workshops, exhibitions, lead educational tours, and promote cultural events. Her goal is to foster appreciation for our heritage, connect communities, and inspire others to explore the richness of South Asian culture.

Volunteering in arts and culture has given her the opportunity to build meaningful connections, develop professional skills, and make a positive impact by sharing the beauty and significance of South Asian art. By collaborating with artists and cultural organizations, her goal of preserving and promoting South Asian heritage, ensuring our stories and traditions are celebrated for future generations is co-created with Sthahlam.

Usha has been instrumental in rendering unwavering support to coordinate and volunteer with the organization.

  • Yoga and Ayurvedic practitioner

A Certified yoga practitioner and Ayurveda enthusiast, Heidi collaborates with Sthahlam with her Dinacharya practice blog post.

Heidi is a seasoned yoga instructor (certified in 2012), Registered Prenatal Yoga Instructor (2016) and IAYT-Certified Yoga Therapist since 2022.  She is a dedicated learner and practitioner of yoga and Ayurveda in her personal life and as an instructor—always humbled to present the teachings as she understands them and endeavor to continuously improve that understanding. As time moves on, these teachings have taught her the value and necessity of honoring the seasonal changes and adjusting practices to align with the rhythms of the Earth and the body as it changes with age. Heidi’s husband also comes from South India and she spends much of her time raising their two children with their familial culture, cuisine and traditions in mind while blending her background of Western European descent and that of her husband.  This has lead to the joys of learning Indian cooking and aspiring to understand his native language, Tamil in addition to a deepened appreciation for the source culture of yoga and Ayurveda through personal experiences.

Heidi teaches weekly classes at the YMCA of Silicon Valley, with the Bayley Lab at WRIISC (War-Related Injury and Illness Study Center) at the VA Palo Alto, and at the Onlok Center for Senior Living.  When time allows, Heidi thoroughly enjoys working one-on-one with private yoga and yoga therapy clients to assist them along their journey of deepening yoga practice and healing.
